Drain Inspection device

Laserware asked Gm Design Development to design a drain inspection device for the domestic market.
We developed the design in 3D CAD, using our in-house 3D printing facilities to prototype and test the device.

The device & kit allows non-professional users to inspect their drain for a relatively small cost, using standard rods and a home laptop computer. The camera simply connects to the user's laptop via a USB cable.

DRAIN INSPECTION – 3D PRINTED PROTOTYPE
Initial prototypes for the drain inspection device were 3D printed in elastomer filament, allowing users to push-fit the accessories into position.
DRAIN INSPECTION – PRODUCT COMPONENTS
The drain inspection device is used in conjunction with standard drain rods, a waterproof torch and USB camera
DRAIN INSPECTION – PROTOTYPE
We produced a series of pre-production prototypes using our in-house 3D printer to enable the drain inspection design to be developed successfully.
DRAIN INSPECTION – FINAL PRODUCT
The production drain inspection device can be fitted onto a complete drain rod set. Rod attachments can be easily changed during use.
